Thriving hour does not have to be followed by a not-so thriving hangover! Here a few tips of how to spend happy hours with coworkers at a rooftop or family cookouts playing Cornhole with cousins - because the happiest happy hours deserve to
be sipped safely without regrets.

Organic Vino
Say goodbye to your whine worthy hangover with this simple switch! Keep an eye out for 'organic' & 'biodynamic' labels OR simply ask for help! Most store associates will be able to give you a selection that they know fits the clean-crafted necessaries. My recent cheap & clean discovery is the maker Domaine Bousquet. Skip The Sugar
Buzzkill. Most of your mouthwatering cocktails contain a thriving killer. Sugar. This sneaky additive will not be clearly stated on any menu - usually disguised as syrups, agave nectar, grenadine, ect. If your favorite drink has ginger ale - simply ask for a switch of club soda! Are espresso martinis your thing? Enjoy a lighter version without the Bailey's! If you're a fruit juice mixer - always try to ask for the lighter version of the juice!
Extra Lime Please!
My drink of choice raises some bartenders eye brows. A thriving twist on the classic marg - shot of tequila, fresh squeezed lime juice on the rocks with extra limes. If you're lucky you'll get a full brim. Extra tip: if you're up for the fire - order spicy tequila - it will force you to sip slower!
Pass The Garnishes
Mint, muddled berries, cucumber, jalapeños, ginger - you name it - I mix it! Extra fresh garnishes will brighten a drink & create a photo worthy opportunity. Playing bartender at home? Freeze grapes for a ice cube replacement that will sure refresh your guests! Check out more here!
Bring On The Bubbly
The classic vodka tonic has gotten canned - literally. Look for either Spiked Seltzer's Bon & Viv, White Claw's new 70 calorie version, Sup! Hard Seltzer or Nauti Hard Seltzer for a low sugar, low carb option. Make your own version at home by using my go-to seltzer Spindrift!

Fake It Till' You Mocktail It
Drinking is a total personal choice & judgement should not shame you! Feel like passing on a round? Opt for the virgin version of your favorite drink as a social refresher - this will allow your choice to go barely noticed. Going to a party? Bring a bottle of Kombucha to get the bubbly effects & thriving gut boost.
When All Else Fails...
We’re not perfect. So when a not so thriving margarita sneaks into your night - be proactive! Activated charcoal tablets before bed, a B12 vitamin and probiotic in morning & a thriving breakfast have all saved me. For a more holistic list of prevention & tips, check this out.
